Gundam Card Game gift guide 2026: what to buy at every budget

Buying for someone who plays the Gundam Card Game, or someone you want to get into it? The safe rule is simple: sealed product from a recent set is always welcome, and a starter deck is the right gift for someone who has never played. Below is what to buy at each budget, with today's market prices. Every product links to its page, where we compare TCGplayer, eBay and every store we track, so you can buy at the cheapest in-stock price.

Under $15: stocking fillers

• A booster pack of the newest set, Stardust Trails Booster Pack: $9.77. Small, cheap and fun to open on the day.
• A sleeved booster pack, Stardust Trails Sleeved Booster Pack: $9.00. The same pack in a hang-sell sleeve, easier to wrap.
• Older sets' sleeved packs, such as Dual Impact Sleeved Booster Pack ($7.55) or Steel Requiem Sleeved Booster Pack ($8.54), are often cheaper still.

$15 to $50: a first deck or a collector's piece

• A starter deck is the best present for a new player: a ready-to-play deck built around one series, with the rules inside. The newest are Starter Decks 11 to 14 (Aquatic Assault, Raging Onslaught, Silent Barrage and Heavy Dominion). Compare them on our starter deck price list.
• Premium Card Collection GUNDAM ASSEMBLE: Premium Card Collection GUNDAM ASSEMBLE - Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans - [PC01A] ($38.76) or Premium Card Collection GUNDAM ASSEMBLE - Mobile Suit Gundam: GQuuuuuuX- [PC02A] ($31.43). A boxed set of one series' cards, good for a fan of that show who doesn't play.
• Freedom Ascension Deck Build Box: $42.13. A deck-building box with packs and extras, a step up from a starter deck.

$90 to $170: a booster box

A booster box is the classic big gift for someone who already plays. Recent boxes cost roughly the same, so pick the set they collect, or the newest:

• Stardust Trails Booster Box: $122.00 (the newest set)
• Freedom Ascension Booster Box: $160.90
• Eternal Nexus Booster Box: $97.08
• Phantom Aria Booster Box: $107.62
• Steel Requiem Booster Box: $133.99
• Dual Impact Booster Box: $152.72

Box prices move week to week, and a store's price can sit well under TCGplayer's market. The booster box price list shows every box with the cheapest store, and the best basket tool prices several items in one order, shipping included.

A splurge: the first set, still sealed

Newtype Rising Booster Box is the set that started the game, and boxes now trade at $420.00. It is a collector's gift more than a player's one. If you buy one, buy from a store or seller you trust and check the shrink wrap.

For a Gundam fan who doesn't play

Not everyone who loves Gundam wants a card game. Gundam Compare also compares Gunpla model kit prices across hobby shops, from cheap HG kits to Master Grades.

Buying tips for the holidays

1. Order early. Stores run low on the newest set's boxes in December, and prices climb when they do.
2. Compare shipping. One order from one store often beats the lowest sticker price split across three.
3. Outside the US? Switch the market at the top of any page to see stores in your country in your currency.
4. Want a particular card instead? Look it up on the card price list; a single chase card is often a better gift than packs for a serious player.
